Anne coordinates annual audit checks and always gets energised from the projects she works on. "Seventy percent of your work is usually enjoyable, and the remaining thirty percent you can show your perseverance.”
"My application process was during the coronavirus period. Everything was done online. Despite that, I spoke to a group of super enthusiastic people. The PwC drive was immediately noticeable, and it was really fun to experience. Why did I choose PwC? My marketing master's degree in Barcelona was the inspiration for my interest in an international work environment. So, PwC was a logical step. But actually, it was because someone tipped me off about the planner vacancy at PwC Assurance. I am a structured person, so in that sense, it was a good match. Nevertheless, I still had a long list of questions for the interviews, such as what kind of data is used at PwC and what does the operational part of the job look like. For me, it was important to find out if I had interpreted the job description correctly and if my expectations matched the image I had of the position. Luckily, it was a very open conversation, and I received a lot of confirmation on the questions I had.
I enjoy working here a lot. There are plenty of interesting projects. For example, within the financial audit, we are working on further automating the work through templates. Using new technology is definitely a hot topic within our team, and we see it as a challenge. Some tools still have some bugs, but it's a matter of trial and error. For the next step in my career, I'm considering a new consulting project where you can't predict the course. "If you’re in an upbeat flow, there is a lot of room at PwC to shape your learning path, further develop yourself, and take on your role within the team. When I first started, I achieved my annual goals within six months and could immediately set additional goals. I'm a true optimist. If there's something I don't enjoy in my work, I try to find positive energy elsewhere. Most people find seventy percent of their work enjoyable, that's the effort you put in. The remaining thirty percent that people don't enjoy is where you can show your perseverance. So, I always believe that you should go for it.
"Even in my free time, I'm super active. I have a lot of social activities with friends alongside intense sports. I also enjoy shopping. I've worked at a fashion store, so I pay attention to fabrics and price tags. Maybe because I pay such close attention to details, I'm a planner professionally. That's also my pitfall. Because I know that I sometimes need to take a step back, I even meticulously plan my moments of rest. It's quite funny because at work, I'm also a well-being ambassador. In a team, we test well-being items like a virtual reality headset for the workplace. Since I was living in a small apartment at the time, I declined to test it. Otherwise, my TV would definitely have been sacrificed. As a wellbeing ambassador, I also promote coaching programs. Many colleagues think that wellbeing is only about exercising. But your mental health is just as important."
