Omololu Bajulaiye

So tell us, who are you?

I'm a proud father, husband and active triathlete and moved from NY to the Netherlands five years ago. I'm also a Digital Accelerator, passionate about legal innovation, digital transformation, and business design. My work can be broken down into three categories; legal design and technology implementations, process transformation, and change management. In my free time I enjoy my triathlon training, cooking, dancing, traveling and exploring new places with my family.

Meet Omololu. A digital accelerator, legal and business design specialist, creative, triathlete and solver with PwC in the Netherlands.

What does The New Equation mean to you personally?

The New Equation means understanding the prerequisites for doing business in a connected ever-changing world, where society can put their trust and confidence in technology in co-creating new solutions to adapt and thrive in our changing world. I contribute to sustainable progress by starting with people first; including all stakeholders in the process of identifying their problems before collaborating on creating sustainable solutions. Culture is in my opinion more important than strategy, and people are more important than technology.

How did you end up at PwC, and what do you do exactly?

As an University lecturer and researcher in law school, I have been researching emerging technology and corporate decision-making. The COVID pandemic accelerated developments in this area, and corporates, legal departments and law firms became more keen on adapting to this change. I joined PwC to help build the New Law and Legal Business Solutions practice in the Netherlands. My work is multifaceted but focuses on three pillars: legal design, technology, and data insights; legal operations and legal department consulting; and managed legal services. My work is both internal as well as client oriented; one day I am leading an internal legal design workshop with one of our practice groups and the next I’m mapping and implementing a legal technology solution for a multinational company.

What is your educational background?

I have an LLM in International Business Law with a focus on Legal Innovation and Technology. I completed my LLB from the University of Birmingham in the UK. Prior to that I received my Bachelor's degree in International Relations with a minor in French language studies from Loyola University, Maryland where after I worked in the field of International Human Rights and Higher Education for three years.

What does your typical working day look like?

Once in the office, I start with a daily standup with my team. We check in on how we are doing personally, followed by a recap of what we worked on the day before, what we are currently working on, and whether any of my team members are faced with challenges or need assistance on any pressing matters. As a Project Manager, I check the status of ongoing projects with relevant stakeholders, reviewing deliverables and business processes against current and target operating models.

What do you like about your work?

Building a new practice is the most exciting and challenging aspect of my job. Each day is different while we are building the foundation of the work we are engaged in and define our business culture.

Tell us something about your team/collaboration/colleagues/the open culture at PwC?

I love that my colleagues are open to sharing knowledge, reaching out, and helping out on projects on an ad-hoc basis. There is so much to learn and many opportunities for further professional development. Everyone is encouraged to share their ideas in an environment where the best idea wins, not based on your level within the organization.

What is still on your bucket list?

I'd really like to go on a road trip to East Africa with my wife and daughter. And to complete my first full Iron Man, I did a half one last year.

Can you name a project you are proud of?

The most memorable moment has been working as part of the pitch and delivery team from the UK and India for a joint proposal on a Contract Lifecycle Management implementation for a large multinational company. I enjoyed the prep work leading up to the pitch, the excitement and energy of delivering the pitch in person, and the biggest reward of winning the opportunity for a new client engagement. It was the perfect example of assembling a diverse team from across the network with different expertise and experience to win new work.

What can you say about the flexibility/work-life balance at PwC?

As an organization, PwC takes exceptional care of creating a work-life balance to your specific needs. I really appreciate the control and flexibility I get from combining my office and work-from-home days.
