Invitation to discuss the Future of AI in Financial Services By now, there is hardly any executive in the financial services industry who doesn’t see the importance and potential of Generative AI. Whereas today all attention is drawn to GenAI, this development has also brought the more traditional forms of AI more accessible and a board room topic.

The potential of AI and GenAI is transformative to the industry and can play a key role in the much needed challenges the industry faces with regards to long term viability in terms of productivity, customer experience, operational resilience, compliance, trust, and growth.

Where parties are flooding the media with innovative use cases to improve individual processes or tackling specific problems, the market as a whole should consider how to truly realize benefits at scale, embed (Gen)AI in the operating model of financial institutions in a sustained, controlled, and compliant manner.

Just like with other new technologies, things can go wrong with (Gen)AI. However, the greatest risk for financial institutions is not adopting this technology. Falling behind in (Gen)AI can undermine a financial institution’s competitive advantage by depriving their talent of the opportunity to optimize their work with the help of this democratized and widely available technology. Therefore, it is wise for financial institutions to fully understand and grasp the potential and the risks associated with (Gen)AI through its adoption.

Please join us in discussing opportunities and challenges of this newly emerging technology including recent relevant use cases for the financial services industry.

AI in the public sector

March 14th, 2024

PwC is organizing a meeting on March 14th (14:00 - 16:00) at our AI Lab in the PwC Experience Centre in Amsterdam about artificial intelligence in the public sector. Pascal Mannot, PwC expert in technology and data analysis.: 'Together with participants from government institutions, implementation organizations, and healthcare institutions, we will explore the first steps to apply AI. It is important that we first gauge the different perspectives. These perspectives include strategy and policy, implementation, and the translation into the IT landscape.

This broad approach aligns with our community of solvers approach, where better solutions arise from bringing together people with different backgrounds.' A practical example of an AI application that will be presented during the meeting on March 14th is Offlimits, an expertise center for online abuse. One of Offlimits' activities is assessing visual material that may contain sexual abuse of minors. The AI application examines the visual material using a set of parameters and categorizes it. Mannot: 'The categories help prioritize the work and manage the workload of employees who assess the material. The opportunities lie in using AI to support humans.'

Agenda for the meeting 'AI in the public sector'

  • Keynote by NTO Microsoft: Microsoft's outlook by Rob Elsinga.
