Inclusion and diversity are important not only for PwC but for the whole of society. We join forces with external partners in order to stimulate public debate about inclusion and diversity, and play a role in improving public awareness of the issue.

Giving Back
Giving Back focuses on college and university students whose parents were not born in the Netherlands or did not study there. These students, who often have a bi-cultural background, sometimes miss accessible role models and a relevant network. Giving Back also selects students who have the potential and ambition to later become role models themselves. Together with Giving Back, PwC offers these students a challenging set of activities involving workshops, training courses and a mentor programme with one-on-one assistance.
Onbeperkt aan de Slag
This foundation helps create a labour market where job seekers with disabilities are fully appreciated for their talent and motivation. We join forces to organise awareness sessions and meet & greet events where various organisations are brought together. In addition, Onbeperkt aan de Slag supplies us with candidates who possess the profiles needed to work for PwC.
Emma at Work
Emma at Work helps youngsters with physical challenges to build an autonomous future. The organisation aims to further incorporate these youngsters into society and focuses on developing and training youngsters from the age of fifteen. In addition, Emma at Work works with partner network GAP200 to make sure that this group is given a fair chance in the labour market. PwC collaborates with Emma at Work on a mentor programme that allows youngsters to gain practical experience.
Talent naar de Top
Talent naar de Top aims to ensure more female and culturally-diverse talent reaches the top and sub-top level of organisations. It helps organisations with knowledge exchange in an active community, advice, practical training, inspiration events and monitoring. Each year we take part in a cross-mentoring programme where mentors and mentees gain experience with someone from another organisation. By signing the Talent naar de Top charter, PwC has further committed to an active diversity policy. In 2022, Talent naar de Top crowned PwC winner of the Diamant Award for organisations that serve as inspirational role models in the field of inclusion and diversity. Foundation for Refugee Students UAF
The UAF (Universitair Asyl Fonds) is a foundation committed to the development of refugee students and professionals, and their integration into the Dutch labour market. We collaborate with UAF as part of the Seeds of PwC programme. This allows us to offer young students and recently graduated residence permit-holders the opportunity to use their talents at PwC and improve their chances of integrating into Dutch society. A success from the first edition in 2017, the programme is now an annual initiative that can truly improve the opportunities of these young people. PwC has also benefited having some of these talented individuals come to work for us after completing the programme.
Municipality of Amsterdam
The Municipality of Amsterdam aims to offer refugees with residence permits a place in society as soon as possible. Emphasis is placed on intensive employment or training-related support, as well as integration. This involves offering assistance in the field of work, training, entrepreneurship, participation, integration and language. PwC and UAF work with the Municipality of Amsterdam within the Seeds of PwC programme. Since 2017, this programme has allowed us to offer young students and recently graduated residence permit-holders the opportunity to use their talents at PwC and improve their chances of integrating into Dutch society. This programme has been a success since the very first edition and now become an annual event.
SER Diversiteit in Bedrijf
Diversiteit in Bedrijf, which is a project by the Social and Economic Council (SEC) that encourages diversity and inclusion on the work floor. It sees inclusive business cultures as being even more important than being a responsible and social enterprise. A diverse set of employees offers employers access to (the best) talent, client groups and new markets. Furthermore, it helps ensure higher profits and productivity as well as a positive image. PwC has signed the Diversity Charter to demonstrate our commitment to greater diversity and inclusion on the work floor. In addition, since 2019 we have taken part in Diversity Day, which is held on the first Tuesday of October. Various activities are organised aimed at drawing even more attention to inclusion and diversity.
Workplace Pride
Workplace Pride is a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the acceptance of lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people (LGBTIQ+) at work and in society. Members of Workplace Pride include major multinationals, large Dutch companies, private and public organisations and academic institutions. PwC is a member of Workplace Pride. Our new reverse mentoring and coaching programme is an important initiative, where we work with Workplace Pride to create an inclusive working environment. It allows mentees to learn from mentors and vice versa. Our response is based on research showing that youngsters go back into the closet when they start work and cannot be themselves.
Agora Network
Agora Network is a foundation that unites talented individuals with roots from all over the world to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and networks. People and organisations are stimulated to exploit the power of different backgrounds and perspectives. PwC works with Agora to organise an annual mentoring programme where participants learn from the diversity that everyone brings with them to the workplace.
PwC x Giving Back
Giving Back supports ambitious school pupils and students, mainly from non-western migration origin, with their study and career choice. We offer these students part-time jobs and we provide coaches for them.

Seeds of PwC programme
In 2015 the refugee crisis became visible to all of Europe. Everyone can remember the poignant images. Some of those refugees have now found shelter in the Netherlands. To give these people a chance to use their talents, in 2017, PwC created work experience placements for young refugees with a residence permit who are either still studying or have recently graduated.
