With about 3,000 colleagues, the Young Professionals are the biggest group within PwC. That is why the YoungPwC network plays an important role when it comes to representation for this group towards other entities and in the organisation of events for this target group. By paying attention to the interests of these groups and involving them in making policy, we make our Young Professionals a substantial part of PwC. In that way, PwC can better respond to the needs of this target group.
YoungPwC organises international, national and regional events. Through that we bring Young Professionals together so that they can build a diverse network, gain valuable experiences and engaging in new collaborations. The events are different in nature and can generally be brought back to three categories: fun/network events, upskilling events and dialogue sessions with Young Professionals.
X-LoS events where we let colleagues get to know each other better and where having fun has priority. Think golf clinic, cooking workshop, virtual bootcamp, soccer tournament or a wine tasting. We organise the events on different levels. On a regional level, our ambassadors organise activities to expand your network in the location where you work, on a national level, to expand you PwC NL network and on an international network to expand your PwC Europe network. In addition there are annual events with other companies to expand your network outside PwC. This is organised via ICA (intercompany Association, who for instance organise the Intercompany gala and the soccer and hockey tournament OlympICA.
These X-LoS evens are aimed on knowledge and inspiration, with a focus on topics related to the new generation. Often with an inspiring speaker or in the form of a lecture or a tour. Remember for instance a session by Thijs Launspach about stress during the Mental Health Awareness Day, or a lunch session where the focus is on the development of Bitcoin. But also more content heavy sessions aimed at Digital upskilling or the annual ‘The Young professional of the Year’ election where Young Professional form various company pitch their best idea around a specific topic.
We also have quarterly dialogue session for gaining insight in what Young Professionals within our own organisation consider important in and around their work. Based on the Global People Survey (GPS) or current news, we engage in dialogue with Young professionals to find out what themes are current and alive in the workspace, what is going well within PwC and what could be better, including needs and/or solutions. This input is then brought up in the meetings of the Board of Management.
